STANDARD PIANO TUNING
This is the process of adjusting all of the strings in the piano so that they sound correct relative to one another, which most people will be familiar with.
PITCH RAISING & TUNING
Includes a rough tuning to align the pitch of the piano so that it will match other instruments, before a standard tuning is then carried out. Only usually needed if the piano has been neglected for a long time.
Note that a further tuning is often needed soon after to achieve a degree of tuning stability within the piano.
I have a wealth of experience in the piano industry, having been a main agent for Yamaha, Kawai, Kemble and Bechstein pianos during which time I sold over 1,000 pianos to schools, teachers, churches and into family homes.
